Popcaan Drop $30 Million on Convertible Range Rover Evoque
Popcaan will be cruising around Portmore on some new wheels. The “Unruly Boss” deejay dished out JM$30 million for a new Range Rover Evoque convertible, sources are telling us. The US dollar equivalent is around $230,000 considering that one of these SUVs MSRP in the United States is around US$50,000. But Popcaan would have to pay import duties are all kinds of other taxes to get it in the island. Popcaan is also noting that he is the first to own a convertible Range Rover in Jamaica. The Hotskull deejay recently returned to Jamaica following a performance in Martinique over the weekend. The deejay already hit the studio since his return to record some new music. Perhaps we will see a music video with him bragging about his new whip.

Aside from expressing shock that the deejay was moved from one facility to another, many key industry players have refused to comment on the matter, stating that the issue was way too sensitive for them to give their opinion. THE WEEKEND STAR contacted Notnice, one of the producers with whom the incarcerated deejay has worked over the years, who although he was aware of the move, was unwilling to say anything. "Mi hear say him move, but mi can't give my opinion on something I don't know the facts or no details about," he said before going silent. Producer Seanizzle was also contacted for a comment, but…

Vybz Kartel Could Be Given Permission To Record Music In GP

Vybz Kartel sudden move to GP two weeks ago came as a surprise but it may have been orchestrated by the dancehall deejay. People inside the Gaza camp are telling us that his transfer to the Tower Street Adult Correctional Center is because he could be granted permission by a judge to record music in prison. Since his arrest in 2011, Kartel has maintained his relevance in dancehall and even winning awards for top artist of the year twice.  “It’s very possible that he will get permission from the judge to record music in prison,” sources told us. “Prison authorities are also in full support of the move because they sees it as him contributing to society, as well as, the prison system by helping other inmates rehabilitate. Plus there is a full studio at GP which would allow him to record better quality music and even upgrade some of those equipment.” His recently revived Gully/Gaza feud with Mavado brought the spotlight on the …
