Damian Marley On Chronixx Collaboration “It Would Be Cool”

Damian Marley On Chronixx Collaboration “It Would Be Cool”

Damian Marley says he is open to collaborating with Chronixx. Jr. Gong and Chronixx are two of the biggest artists in roots reggae right now, but on Sunday night Gong won the 2018 Grammy for Best Reggae Album. The win sparked the usual debate about the Grammys bias towards the Marleys whenever one of them is nominated in the reggae category. While there may be some truth to the “perceived bias” towards the Marley brand in reggae, Jr. Gong’s album Stony Hill is a great album that deserves to win more than one Grammy. Chronixx has since pushed back at his fans who are criticizing Damian Marley, telling them on Instagram that there would be no him without the reggae/dancehall veteran. Damian Marley is now saying he is opened to a collaboration with the Chronology singer. “It would be cool,” Gong said. “We’ve spoken about it before. I think it will happen, once the opportunity presents itself.” Damian Marley has been getting appl…

Demarco Is “Comfortable” With His New Hit Single
Demarco says he is “Comfortable” with his new smash hit single. The dancehall veteran is starting out the new year with another hit under his belt. His new single “Comfortable” was released last weekend and already it’s getting a lot of attention on dancehall airwaves. Demarco produced the single himself and released it under his own label True Gift Entertainment while offloading the distribution to Zojak World Wide.  “I’m a well-rounded artiste, producer, songwriter and engineer. When I go to the studio, I generally start off with a blank slate and whatever mood I am in or the feel I get, I just start writing; after I find the right melody, I then determine the direction I want to go,” Marco said. Demarco has over ten years experience under his belt in the music. He started out in the mid-2000s as a producer before transitioning into an artist. He has since released a number of big hits like “Fallen Soldiers,” “I Love My Life,” and his…

XXXTentacion Says A Vybz Kartel Collaboration Coming

XXXTentacion Says A Vybz Kartel Collaboration Coming

XXXTentacion and Vybz Kartel on the same track should be fire. The South Florida rapper, who previously claimed he has some Jamaican roots, announced on Instagram last night that he has a collaboration coming out with the incarcerated dancehall star. Rappers wanting to collaborate with Vybz Kartel is nothing new and in fact, over the last few months, we’ve heard rumors of artists like Drake and Cardi B wanting to get the World Boss on a track. The difference here is that this announcement is coming directly from the artist and not some unnamed source tipping off the media. “Vybz Kartel featuring XXXTentacion, coming soon, lol only the Jamaicans and Hispanics know what i’m talking about!” X wrote on IG stories. XXXTentacion worked with Sizzla Kalonji on his “My Girl” single last year, but if this new single materialized, it will be the first time the “Look At Me” rapper and Vybz Kartel are working together. Last year XXXTentacion bla…

USHER LINKS WITH DON CORLEONE FOR DANCEHALL “PRESSURE”

USHER LINKS WITH DON CORLEONE FOR DANCEHALL “PRESSURE”

American singer Usher and Jamaican producer Don Corleone recently completed a dancehall track titled “Pressure.” The single was recorded at the AfterMaster Recording & Mastering Studios in Los Angeles.

Corleone, whose real name is Donovan Bennett, told media reporters how the collaboration came about. “I got a call from Rico Love (an American producer) one night asking me if I could come to a studio in Hollywood, California and be prepared to work. I went to the studio and to my surprise, Usher was in the studio. So, Rico said let me play something for you and he played me this demo that he did. It has only a few keys on it, so he then asked if I could make it fire with that dancehall sound. I made it on spot and it took me like five minutes to complete it,” Don Corleone told the Jamaica Observer. Usher liked what he heard and insisted they recorded the song immediately, according to Bennett.
Bennett came up with an artiste who…
